2015 12-Month Photo Project || January

Here goes my first monthly collection for this year’s photo project. Please excuse the lack of an obvious theme since I have been sick for half of January (and counting). Too many germs and not enough immunity!

Title: F2.0

My wonderful parents bought me the 135mm f2.0 for Christmas! I have not been able to use it much so here is a picture of the lovely lens instead of a lovely picture taken with the lens. Please stay tuned. 😀

Title: Remembrance

One of our high school students passed away in early January. He was a bright young man and will be missed by many. The students organized a candlelight vigil for him and it was heartwarming to see everyone come together during a time of need.

Title: Spring

We’ve had such a warm, dry January that my daisy bush thinks spring has arrived and has already begun blossoming.

Title: Plated

I recently signed up for the Plated food subscription service. Each week I get to choose from a selection of chef-designed dishes and the ingredients are shipped fresh to my house. Everything is already portioned out so all I have to do is chop and cook. It’s like having my own sous chef! Now if only there was a convenient busboy service as well. 😛 This was my first Plated meal–Szechuan Pork with Green Beans.

I hope you enjoy this month’s photos. Remember, you’re more than welcome to join me! And I hope you do now that you know how easy this project is going to be! 😀

  1. Ah thank God you posted this. I was about to ask you. I hied you feel better soon Patty. I have missed you here. All the shots are beautiful and each shot is special. I would like to join you in this monthly photo journey.
How should I post? Title? Number restrictions? Guidelines?

    • Ahh no guidelines, Sonal! Just choose your favorite photos from the month and share them as a collection in a post! You may post as many photos as you’d like! I decided to title mine for no real reason other than I felt like it at the moment I was writing the post. I can’t wait to see yours!

  2. Being sick is no fun so I am glad out were able to see fun through the lens! Hope all is well with class and I am holding a silent moment for the deceased child from your school; so sad. Missing pictures of the fluff!

  3. So glad you are back and sharing your beautiful pictures. A lot of people are sick this season and glad to hear you are feeling better. I would love to join but I need to work on my picture-taking – I have a long way to go. I have never heard of Plated Food before so I will “google” it. What a great idea especially for someone as busy as you. The first meal looks pretty good 🙂

  4. I bet you’re happy to see January behind you, Patty… February has arrived! Hope you can now enjoy better health and happier days. 🙂 My day is already happier just viewing your beautiful photography… I’ve missed you and your keen eye! Stunning collection of photos…

  5. I hadn’t seen anything from you in such a long time. So glad you re surfaced but so sorry to hear you have been sick. Hope you are doing better. The lens looks incredible, the photo’s although not taken with the lens are as always spectacular.

  6. Oh, Patty, sorry that you have not been well – I hope you are well and truly on the mend now. So lovely to see your work again – beautiful photos, really gorgeous! xxx

  7. Hi Patty, it’s so nice to see you here again. Sorry you were sick for so long, both of my girls have had a rough past week, I’m hoping this won’t last much longer. This winter has been terrible for the flu. I just love the flower picture, gorgeous!

  8. These photos are just stunning and I’m sorry to hear your still feeling rubbish that has been going on for ages you poor thing. So plated meals? I would love that but they don’t exist here , how lucky are you. That daisy plant is so cute! How’s the furry four legged cutie? Xx

    • Ugh I hate being sick, Justine! You would have a lot of fun with these meals. It has been a fun activity and an easy way to include the boyfriend while cooking! My little fluffy butt is doing well. He sends his love! How have you been??

      • sounds like a great idea, its a shame they dont do it here. Glad fluffy butt is good haha, what a funny name, makes me laugh. I’ve been ok, just kind of still geting my head around Xmas being over and the New Year beginning x

  9. So nice to read about and “see” your month at a glance 🙂 — i know those weekly macros and other projects are tough to keep up (from experience! ;), but this is a great idea and a wonderful way to document your month — the good and the bad! And that plate of beans looks so good! 🙂

Please tell me what you think!
