2016 Monthly Photo Project || June

My mom commented recently that we’re already halfway through 2016.

What a funky year.

I think my brain is stuck back in winter somewhere. Plenty has happened since then and my poor head feels like mashed potatoes after trying to process it all. But mashed potatoes is not a bad thing, as long as you have a lot of gravy to go with it. Hopefully the second half of 2016 will be smooth sailing. But who knows since the new school year will start in a month and a half and I’ve been having intense teaching nightmares non-stop since summer break began. The kind where it’s the first day of school and NO ONE will stop talking to listen to you. And you have to do the stupid backwards counting thing and still no one stops talking even when you get to 1. Then district folks come in to observe you and there are no kids in your class. So you start showing  random student work in a desperate attempt to prove that you actually teach. Seriously, my poor brain. 😛

My photo collection this month is quite minimal. I was too busy having lunch and dinner. And lunch and dinner. And repeat. Very little time for shooting. But have no fear, I shall be over-posting next month. Well, I hope so anyway. I’m off to Iceland in less than two weeks. I am super excited! A friend of mine thinks my decision to go to Iceland was the catalyst for all this growth and change in my life. She’s right. So perhaps my 2016 didn’t start in January. It’ll start on July 14th. I’ll call this date the Patty New Year. Perhaps I should pack sparklers to celebrate while I’m there. 😀

  1. Yes, we do eat with our eyes first – and yes I would like a couple of those cupcakes! Pretty little girl who doesn’t mind being photographed. By the way always gravy with mashed potatoes 🙂

  2. Lovely Pics, patty! I hope you enjoy your Iceland trip! And best wishes for the rest of the year! Or the New Year 🙂

  3. I can’t wait to see photo’s of your Iceland trip, it’s going to be spectacular. Yes Patty’s New Year and you are going on Bastille Day to Iceland. The photo’s are all just beautiful the cupcakes are beautiful and and I love the pineapple flower. Your photo’s always are much more than capturing an image you capture life and your photo’s are alive. Have a fun trip and safe travels.

  4. Mmm…mashed potatoes. That third pic is amazing. You are so good at pulling those natural moments out. Totally amazing!

  5. Beautiful stunning photos. I remember the nightmares of beginning a new school year. You will be fine and the kids will listen to you. Shower them with positive reinforcement, it works. Have a wonderful trip to Iceland, I can’t wait for the photos.

    • Yes, I can’t wait to come back with all the photos. Fingers crossed for good lighting! If I get good shots, I’ll be so happy that I won’t even dread the new school year anymore! 😉

  6. Yep, gravy is great with mashed potato 😉 I love the pretty cupcakes and all your photos. Your trip will be wonderful! ❤

  7. I think I have cupcake envy… beautiful shot Patty! That wee one looks like an absolute angel. 🙂

Hope Iceland cures the nightmares…Happy New Year… Hope the remainder of 2016 is fantabulous!
